Academy focuses on disability support

Our latest Dreamstore Academy is underway at Albrighton Moat, near Wolverhampton. The first weekend is complete, and just two more weekends to go, one in April, and one in May.

This Academy has a particular focus on disability, making the Albrighton Trust facility a perfect location for delivering the course. There is an excellent learning facility indoors, and recently refurbished fishing platforms just a step outside the door.

A number of our participants will be supporting projects and programmes around disability. Two are ex-servicemen who are focused on helping others with PTSD, from a perspective of personal experience, and we anticipate that this is the beginning of an exciting programme towards self-help and support through angling activity among Veterans.

Every Academy has a First Aid module, open to all those who work with the BDAA, partner organisations or have completed a Dreamstore Academy course previously.

The First Aid module is an essential part of assuring the qualification gained on the Academy is up to date, and the course is offered to anyone who wishes to confirm attendance to the email address academy (at) dreamstore.org and is available on Saturday 13th April at Albrighton Moat ready to start at 9.30am.

If you are interested in learning more about Dreamstore Academy go to the Academy drop down menu on our home page. And whether coaching or leading a voluntary group there are lots of useful resources there too.
