For the individual or group that has generated an outstanding improvement to the ecology or surrounding environment of a fishing amenity.
Clean water means healthy fish. This simple fact of nature is well known to every fisher man, woman and child. What is not appreciated is how much of conservation is owed to anglers' natural guardianship of a great many of our nation's waterways. The Conservation Award is designed to highlight way in which the angler's natural instinct brings such benefit to the nation's natural world.
To a Government, Non Governmental Agency or commercial business that has best supported fishing, whether as core or incidental to its main activity.
The facilitators of the fishing world are often those who have the job of enhancing, defining and protecting our fishing. The promotion of good practice and the practical support given by these government and non-governmental agencies is essential to the future of fishing. Businesses too have a firm affinity with the angler and often contribute in quiet positive initiatives that promote fishing to a far greater extent than their commercial interests. The Best Agency or Business Award seeks to give incentive and recognition to those who work quietly and resolutely, delivering unstinting and unrewarded endeavour to angling, and who have excelled in facilitating the angling fraternity.

For a Club, Association, or Society that has demonstrated an ability to generate and sustain membership, and undertaken innovative and imaginative programmes or activities that have opened participation to new anglers and provided a welcoming environment to all those who take part in Club, Association, or Society activities.
The fishing Club, Association or Society is at the heart of the network of contacts and friendships that stretch across the nation. They each bring people together, providing a focal point for all those who share a particular passion for angling. The best will be strong and growing, show a special ability to engage with both anglers and the general public to attract new members, or have undertaken a new activity that has greatly enhanced the value and participation of angling in a local area or among a particular group of people. The Group Award recognised the tremendous organisation and energy of a body of people who are directly promoting and strengthening the angling fraternity and enhancing an appreciation of angling among the wider public.
To the individual who has done most to promote and encourage fishing as an enjoyable pastime, and to encourage responsible participation among new enthusiasts.
Anglers are individuals. The magic attraction of fishing is being alone on that stretch of water. It's down to you, your skill, and your ability to coax the fish lurking beneath the surface to take the bait. While our past-time suggests individualism is paramount, many fishing folk give so much back to others, sharing their passion and love of fishing in practical ways and/or inspirationally. The Individual Award is dedicated to these unsung individuals who have - in their own unique way - made a difference.

Social Inclusion Award
For the individual or group that has best encouraged social inclusion of alienated or disadvantaged individuals, singularly or in a group project, that has clearly defined and measured outcomes.
It is often said that post-industrial Britain is losing the sense of community that provided a sense of belonging, a sense of sharing and a sense of wider responsibility to others. In recent years, innovative projects have shown fishing has the potential to encourage social inclusion amongst the vulnerable groups of modern society, and more widely provide that sense of shared purpose that brings people of all backgrounds together. Much of this work goes unsung because it is dealing with those who are vulnerable, marginalised, or 'different' and ignored. There are no barriers in fishing, and the Social Inclusion Award is aimed at demonstrating the enormous value of fishing in society.
