Busy summer for Halton Brook community angling

Dreamstore was delighted to be able to provide new equipment to the Halton Brook Children’s Centre, supported by the Community Centre’s Maureen Ball. The range of equipment was sourced through Preston Innovations, which has a great series of starter kits ideal for young people beginning their angling activity.

With a Summer that was worthy of the name, the Centre was able to hold a series of events and give the new equipment a thorough outing. There was an open day in July for all families in the area. Then over three Wednesdays into August there were a series of matches from 6-9pm, involving young people angling from ages 6 -16yrs: points were added up over the 3 matches and trophies and medals were handed out as prizes. Thanks too to Warrington Anglers, which handed out fishing passes and whips to the young people taking part.

The lady in the burgundy jumper is Helen Dagnall, who is competing in the 2013 Ladies World Angling Championships in Slovenia. Great to have someone who competes at the highest level supporting the young people just starting out on a fishing lifetime.
