Representatives from voluntary organisations around the country attended our Dreamstore Day at Haydock Park Racecourse on Saturday. A great time was had by all, meeting and exchanging ideas and experiences of working with many different types of groups.
More later on different parts of the day, as there it too much to post all at once. Presentations, Awards and plenty of time to talk about best practice and ideas around the voluntary sector engaging through angling. Also included in the day was a talk on the Equality Act, a seminar on being a ‘role model’ and a session on learning difficulties around dyslexia and dyspraxia.
What was clear from all those who attended was the passion and invention in addressing local issues at a local level, always maintaining ownership within and around the communities of which the group was part. Amazing how angling can be integrated into so many different activities for so many different positive social outcomes.
Thanks to all who attended and made the day such a huge success.
