Fun2Fish Bournemouth

Published on 1st April 2007

Fun2Fish works with children and young adults who have learning difficulties and have often been excluded from mainstream schools in the Bournemouth area.

The purchase of new Pike Fishing Tackle was made possible with a generous donation from Dreamstore UK, and the 6 sets of Pike Fishing Tackle have been thoroughly tried and tested over February and March 2007.

One of the young people with Fun2Fish, James Gardner, is shown here with one of five small Jack Pike caught at the David Lloyd Leisure Centre’s lake in Ringwood Hants.

Fun2Fish has also taken groups of children from three local primary schools for day taster sessions, which were funded by Bournemouth Borough Council.  Fun2Fish supports the learning AQA (ASDAN) Certificates in “Basic Angling Skills” (unit 1) and “Fishing as a leisure pursuit”.  Early next year it will be delivering another AQA unit “Spinning for Pike”, again possible through Dreamstore support.
