Learning with Fun2Fish has Pike in a Spin

Fun2Fish works with children and young adults who have learning difficulties and have often been excluded from mainstream schools in the Bournemouth area. The project has recently purchase a selection of Pike Fishing Tackle, made possible with a generous donation from Dreamstore UK. The 6 sets of Pike Fishing Tackle have been thoroughly tried and tested over the past couple of months.
One of the young people with Fun2Fish, James Gardner, is shown here with one of five small Jack Pike caught at the David Lloyd Leisure Centre’s lake in Ringwood Hants.
Fun2Fish has also taken groups of children from three local primary schools for day taster sessions, which were funded by Bournemouth Borough Council. All enjoyed this and there have already been enquiries about fishing days during the summer holidays.
Fun2Fish supports the learning AQA (ASDAN) Certificates in “Basic Angling Skills” (unit 1) and “Fishing as a leisure pursuit”. Early next year Fun2Fish will be delivering another AQA unit “Spinning for Pike”.
