Two new Dreamstore Education Action Zones delivered
It has been an exciting start to 2011 and no more so with the delivery of two new Dreamstore Education Action Zones. The first was to Angling Unlimited in the West Midlands and the second to Angling for Youth Development (Perth).
The team at Angling Unlimited has been delivering Dreamstore Education Action Zone events across the West Midlands for the past few years. Our latest designed package provides a more portable version that is better suited for smaller community and school halls and expands the range of DEAZ activities that Angling Unlimited is able to provide. A first for Angling Unlimited is the game fishing elements which have been piloted with huge success in Scotland.
And talking about Scotland, we were also able to deliver our fourth DEAZ to Scotland, this one to be used by Angling for Youth Development in the Perthshire area.

Dreamstore's Mark Tellright (kneeling, left) presents AFYD with a new DEAZ. Others in photo: Stuart Cairns (kneeling, right) and back row (l-r): Derek Wilkie, Jake Munro, from AFYD Perth, & John Cameron (AFYD East Perthshire)
Our thanks to Crerar Hotels for the generous financial support in bringing the DEAZ into Scotland over the past couple of years.
Grev Humphrey of AFYD Trust was delighted with the presentation:
The Dreamstore Education Action Zones are a great addition to AFYD’s range of activity. While we provide SQA classroom courses for older students, the DEAZ is proving to be a great starter activity for engaging with children in primary schools and first year secondary schools, and among that age group in the community environment. Our thanks to Dreamstore and Crerar Hotels for this fun, colourful and thoroughly engaging angling experience which will provide a first introduction to fishing to many, many young people.
The presentation of the new DEAZ took place at the 2011 Salmon Opening at Kenmore, which was a tremendous day for all involved.
