Busy summer – Hartcliffe & Withywood Angling Club

It has been a busy summer for the voluntary sector, and Dreamstore has a number of reports on activities.

First is Hartcliffe & Withywood Angling Club, who started the summer with week long fishing trip to Revel Fishery in Dorset for a number of young people from local housing estates.

Dreamstore provided matched funding to a Police Community Trust grant to make this summer opening event happen. Mike Robbins reports: “There were several coaching sessions and friendly matches being held throughout the week with a presentation of a few prizes and trophy’s on the last day . We also managed a day trip to West Bay, with a day’s fishing off the pier, a fantastic day!”

The week was also used as a team training event, including young volunteers who had developed their angling through the Club and wanted to support the Club through the summer programme of fishing activities.

Dreamstore supports the incredible work of Hartcliffe & Withywood Angling Club and the engagement with young people in the area. It provided equipment at the outset of the Club being established, and has more recently provided some emergency funding to keep the Club minibus MOT’d as other funding applications were pending.

Mike Robbins was interviewed at Dreamstore’s Big Fish Festival just before the Club started its summer programme of activities. Leaving it to Mike to explain what the Club sets out to achieve…

Well done Mike at team at Hartcliffe & Withywood Angling Club.
