Following an angling day as an activity organised by MUVE (Mid Ulster Victims Empowerment) based in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, interest was expressed in more regular angling activities as many members of the group found that angling had the potential to positively contribute to both family and personal well-being.  A plan was set in place to establish a MUVE Angling Club, Dreamstore was approached as to whether a small grant might be available to help the Club with some equipment to lend and help the Club get off the ground.

It was a pleasure to attend the formal opening day of the Club at Annaginny Fishery near Cookstown, Northern Ireland. There was a great family turnout at the event.

And our contribution to the startup was a set of fly and course rods and other fishing equipment.  Club Secretary, Ryan, wrote:

“Thank you for the kind donation of which went towards fishing rods for the MUVE Fishing Club. On the day of the launch they were all used and some of the members and children caught their first ever fish with them. A great day had by all. These rods have really helped our fishing club get its feet off the ground.”

It is always good to see a new initiative off to a good start, and also good to see strong support from elsewhere in the angling community.

At the opening event for MUVE Angling Club, at Annaginny Fishery, (Left to Right) Alistair Robinson, Chairman MUVE, David Mann, DECAl, Gary Lavery, Sport NI (Angling), David Hoey, Dreamstore, and Ryan McKeown, Secretary MUVE.

All the best to the team at MUVE Angling Club.
